News from Campus
Now that the Fall Count Day has passed for our 10th year at Enlace Academy, I can’t help but reflect on the tremendous growth of our school over this last decade. Back in 2013, we launched with 68 students in grades K-3rd, and today we have over 660 students in grades K-8th, learning and growing each day. Our small but mighty staff of 10 in year 1 is now a robust group of 88 fantastic people committed to our core belief that all children can and will learn!
The 2022 school year began with a bang at our Back to School Block Party, where past and present families came to jump in the bounce houses, speak with teachers and community partners, eat some Kona Ice, and interact with Enlace’s dynamic new principal Stephanie Campos. Under Stephanie’s leadership, family engagement has been a priority as we have worked to reconnect with our community coming off of the challenging pandemic years and the required distancing that occurred.
As Enlace aspires to be the preeminent school for multilingual learners in the state of Indiana, we are grateful to our partners such as The Mind Trust, whose grant has afforded us the opportunity to get 10 more Enlace educators licensed in EL education, and to Marian University, whose work with our staff has helped us hone our foundational literacy program to best meet the needs of all of our students.
The halls and classrooms of Enlace Academy are a vibrant place filled with smiling students, visual culture that captures the identities of our students, and talk of leading with love. We define love at our school as pairing high expectations with strong support so all of our students can become the best version of themselves and choose their own futures in high school, college, and beyond.
Thank you to all who have supported us over this last decade, and we are optimistic for what the next decade holds for our community.
