From the Executive Director
Our school was founded on the core belief that every child can and will learn, and this year, we are embracing the theme of Unlocking Potential, inspired by Adam Grant’s insightful book, Hidden Potential: The Science of Achieving Greater Things.
In his work, Grant emphasizes that a truly successful education system ensures that all children, regardless of their backgrounds or resources, have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. Building schools where students achieve greater things isn’t about focusing on a select few and pushing them to excel. It’s about fostering a culture that allows all students to grow intellectually and thrive emotionally.
As we launched this school year, our focus has been on fostering growth not only for our students but also for our staff and families. We are thrilled to share some of our successes with you.
To address the diverse needs of our learners, we hav made significant investments in personalized learning. Thanks to the generous support from our NextGenSIG grant, we have welcomed six multilingual instructional assistant and teachers, two reading interventionists, and nearly one hundred students have benefited from 1:1 tutoring. Additionally, we introduced a personalized “success block” for all middle school students, resulting in double-digit gains in proficiency on their ILEARN checkpoints.
For our families, we are proud to offer English classes four times a week and have conducted Home Literacy Visits for over 100 of our students this fall. Our weekly Parent and Child Together (PACT) Time sessions provide valuable opportunities for families to learn Science of Reading principles alongside their children.
To ensure that our community thrives emotionally, we are committed to character education that builds on essential traits across grade levels. We employ restorative practices and invest in school-wide social and emotional learning initiatives. This year, we have added a 6th-8th grade assistant school leader and a school counselor to better support our students. We are particularly excited about our new upper school “house” system, our mentoring partnership with Butler University, and our revamped community meetings.
Like Adam Grant, we believe that an education system is not truly successful until all children can reach their potential. At Enlace Academy, we are dedicated to creating an environment where every student can learn and grow.
Thank you for being an invaluable part of our community. We are grateful for your partnership and support.
