Enlace Academy is so proud of Ms. Heitman and her afterschool choir club for performing with 200+ students from across Indianapolis at Circle the State with Song. The students have been practicing after school to prepare for the joint performance.
For 32 years, Circle the State with Song (CSWS) has been an integral part of Indiana’s choral landscape. This program is a statewide choral festival for elementary and junior high/middle school choirs. Nearly 5,000 youth from hundreds of different schools participate in Circle the State each spring at one of 12 sites throughout Indiana. Over 15,000 community members attend these concerts annually.

Enlace Academy is thrilled to be highlighted in Teach Indy's blog post that describes how our teachers & leaders leverage the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) approach to instruction.
SIOP was developed specifically to support educators in best practices for serving English Learner students. It prioritizes helping educators maximize opportunities for students to interact with content-specific language and their peers.
Read more about the great work of Carlota Holder and the amazing educators that seek to meet the needs of all learners each day on TeachIndy's blog post.
Enlace believes in the power of innovation and strong partnerships between students, staff, and families. The MindTrust recently highlighted two of Enlace's innovative programs - Saturday family literacy classes and 4th grade's recent curriculum revision and book release to ensure classroom materials are culturally relevant for students and that families are included in their children's education.
Read more about these initiatives on the MindTrust's blog post.
Enlace Academy parent, Alma Becerril, received a $5,000 grant from The MindTrust, Go Farther Literacy Fund, to implement a book exchange program called “Leyendo Juntos,” which will promote a sense of pride for reading bilingual literature while increasing literacy and comprehension gains in K-8 students who are English Language Learners, have an IEP, or are reading below grade level.
Enlace Academy is incredibly proud of Ms. Becerril for her passion and appreciates the support and investment from The MindTrust.
Enlace Academy is so grateful for all of the staff, families, friends, businesses, and partners that contributed to this year's Holiday Assistance Program! Through the overwhelming support and generosity of the Enlace community, the school was able to sponsor 100% of the over 200 students that benefited from this year's program.
Enlace families received gifts, clothing, food, and other items that made this holiday season shine brighter. Families were incredibly grateful for the assistance and wish all those that contributed a happy holiday!
